DEAR EDITOR:
I have heard that allegations have been made that Kristen Porter
was asked to leave Washington High School in Fremont rather than
leaving for her own reasons. I was Kristen’s mentor teacher when
she began here and remained familiar with her work throughout her
tenure at Washington.

I have heard that allegations have been made that Kristen Porter was asked to leave Washington High School in Fremont rather than leaving for her own reasons. I was Kristen’s mentor teacher when she began here and remained familiar with her work throughout her tenure at Washington.
Kristen was considered an outstanding teacher by both staff and administration.
We and her students were very sorry when she decided to leave us.
There was never any hint of misconduct on her part at any time. Quite to the contrary, she was always one of the most admired and influential teachers at our school for her skills as a teacher and integrity as a person.
