The city council and a small group of industrial developers have gone back and forth about a proposed street through a project’s lot that could affect Murray Avenue residents.

The council has expressed sympathy for the residents and sided with them last year by nixing a truck parking lot near their cluster of homes. The entire layout of the area needs more consideration, the council has agreed, and this latest squabble over whether a new street will connect Forest Street and Murray Avenue exemplifies sensitivity over what many see as a forgotten residential area.
