Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital of natural causes.
Jim Landergen, 84, of San Martin, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital of natural causes.
He was born Feb. 25, 1920, in Ferndale and grew up in northern California where he started working for the Southern Pacific Railroad and later Pacific Motor Trucking.
He met Gracie, his wife of 57 years, and they moved to Marysville, later San Jose, and the last 41 years of his life at their home in San Martin.
Mr. Landergen served in the U.S. Army during WW II and raised quarter horses. He loved to travel in his motor home to horse shows and later to rodeos with his grandchildren.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by daughter, Judy Martin of Soledad, a veterinarian at All Pets Hospital in Salinas; son in law, Chuck Martin of Soledad, Pioneer Equipment, King City; and two grandchildren, Melanie Martin of Gonzales and Charlie Martin of Soledad.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gracie, in June of this year.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8pm today, Nov. 11, 2004, at the Johnson Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 10am Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at the funeral home.
The committal service will be at 10am Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 at Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka.
