He was 71.
Mr. Lopez was raised in Gilroy and attended Gilroy Schools. He worked as a farmer in the Gilroy area for most of his life.
He was a past member of the American National Guard. He moved to Bakersfield three years ago, but before he did he enjoyed helping the senior citizens of Gilroy.
He is the husband of Marina Lopez of Bakersfield; the son of the late Frank and Ruth Lopez.; the brother of Chelo Gonzalez and her husband, Nicolas of Gilroy, Rosie Ortega of Gilroy, Delores and her husband, Oscar Cesena of Gilroy, Tony Lopez of Gilroy, Gloria Lopez of Gilroy, Petra and her husband, Pete Larson of Grayson, Frank Lopez and his wife, Victoria of Hollister, Raymond Lopez and his wife, Maria of Gilroy, Danny Lopez and his wife, Josie of San Jose, and the late Raul Lopez and Jesse Lopez.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Gilroy.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 4, 2004, until 8 p.m. at Rucker’s Mortuary, Bakersfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2004, at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Bakersfield.
