Dear Editor,
Kudos to the Gilroy Unified School District Board members, Mark Zappa (Gilroy High School parent) and others, for standing up and facing down efforts to use our public schools as social laboratories and our public school students as “lab mice.”
I attended the school board meeting on April 21. It is truly reported to have been standing-room only. I was pleased that those with differing views had ample opportunity to speak without discord.
It was refreshing to hear each board member in his/her turn, express their opinion that teacher participation in “The Day of Silence” project was a violation of written board policy.
