Dear Editor,

Christmas break had to become winter break, Easter week had to become spring break, and that one day of the year of dressing up and having silly fun, called Halloween, was cancelled forever.

Such wonderful childhood memories ripped from the majority because of the GUSD caving in to a small, small minority. Yet, we get the Hispanic La Posada religious celebration embraced by the Gilroy “Unified” School District. What’s up?

The serving of food not prepared by the school district is prohibited. Why the blind eye here? Parents aren’t even to bring cupcakes to celebrate their child’s birthday. The district claims the food safety rule, but wasn’t this age-old practice taken away because “someone” said it’s not fair to the have nots?

Who ok’d all this? Is there a leftist leaning or just plain prejudice in the district? GUSD, now’s your chance to show respect to all with La Posada being the first step.
