Lady Mustang hoops handles Gunn in first round of tourney

The Gilroy High girls basketball team opened up the Burligame
Tournament Wednesday.
BURLIGAME – The Gilroy High girls basketball team opened up the Burligame Tournament Wednesday with a tight 48-47 first-round victory over Gunn.

The Lady Mustangs (8-1) were led by senior guard Laura Hennessee’s 18 points, junior forward Sara Hoeft’s 14 points and senior guard Danell Dow’s eight points.

Gilroy will head into the second round today with the finals on Friday.
