complications of open-heart surgery.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Richard Renn of Gilroy; son and his wife, Scott and Joy Renn, and grandchild Rebecca, of Lompoc; son and wife Richard Gregory and Kristina Renn, and grandchildren Timothy, Tyler, Kailey, and Kristen, of Gilroy; and son Erick Renn, of Gilroy. She is also survived by her sister and husband, Joyce and Jan Henke, of Fairfield and her two nieces Allison Wren, of Vacaville, and Tina Henke of Fairfield.
Laurel was born in Willows on April 20, 1946, and raised there. She graduated from Willows High School, class of 1966, after being diagnosed and treated for Hodgkin’s Disease at age 17. She attended dental/medical assisting college in San Francisco and then worked for Dr. Paul Neiberding in Burlingame. She was married to Richard in 1969 in Tiberon and the family moved to the Morgan Hill-Gilroy area in 1989. She was a very active member of the South Valley Community Church. Laurel enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Laurel’s family would appreciate donations to South Valley Community Church (Women’s Ministry or Compassion Center) or the Cancer Society in her memory.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at South Valley Community Church, 8095 Kelton Drive, Gilroy. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, 1000 First St., Gilroy. A life celebration will follow the burial at South Valley Community Church fellowship hall.
