As a proud Marine Mom I would like to let the South Bay communities know that the founder and President of Operation Interdependence (www.oidelivers.org) will be visiting Gilroy this Saturday. OI is an organization that provides a means for people like you and I to support the troops by sending care packages and letters of thanks and encouragement to the troops on the frontlines without impacting military resources.
It will be a time for us to explore the many ways in which we can support the troops overseas. It may be as simple as giving 15 minutes of your time once, volunteering an hour each week or each month, writing a letter of support to the troops, packing goodie bags or donating goodies to be included in care packages. If you are interested in joining community members on Saturday to discuss ways to support the troops, please contact me at 848-2630 for more details. If you are unable to attend the meeting on Saturday, but would like to learn more about OI and what you can do to show your support please call me.
