Dear Editor:
I highly recommend not letting Wal-Mart, a corporate monster, into our community. Being born and raised in Gilroy, it may cause mass destruction to our growing town. Wal-Mart may be seen as a blessing, but in reality and true facts they are masters of evil. As of 2000, Wal-mart has 12,000 plus lawsuits in process which vary from Injuries to customers and their employees, to unfair labor practices, to sexual harassment, and discrimination regarding female employees. Mr. Walton claimed Wal-Mart is for America, but why should consumers and the employees have to suffer?
If Wal-Mart is truly for the American people, they should treat them accordingly with better wages, health benefits and safe working conditions. Who is Wal-Mart really looking out for? Their own corporate greed! I recommend: “How Wal-Mart is Destroying America and the world” by Bill Quinn. Come on community members, help say “NO” to a super Wal-Mart!!!!
