Dear Editor,

It’s such a shame that Gilroy is going down the same path as San Jose and other Bay Area cities have done.

Too many houses are scheduled to be built in this small town. Gilroy is such a lovely, still-rural city, but the developers have had their way here as they have everywhere else and our wonderful city is going to disappear into another suburban traffic-ridden mess.

We still have actual farms here! We have open space! We have deer and turkeys and other wild animals. This will all disappear if the City Council continues to cater to the developers instead of listening to the residents of Gilroy.

The train may or may not be good for Gilroy, who knows? I can tell you for sure that more and more people will NOT be good for any of us.

Sure, they will pay taxes, but they will overburden our streets and our stores and our schools. Forget about building on the hills. Forget about Glen Loma. Let’s keep Gilroy as it is – one tiny place that hasn’t given in to overbuilding.

. Just like the greed and insanity that led to the demise of the carrier pigeon an American bison, so is the disgusting brave over every space mentality that is leading to Gilroy’s demise. Go to San Jose ~ ;rows of vacant houses and downtown buildings. Why dowel needto plow over every gilroy blade of grass and oak tree to build thousands of more luxury homes with no inhabitants?

You greedy builders and corrupt planning department are making me think Greed succeeds and God doesn’t exist.
