Dear Editor,
An open letter to Jack Daley:
We, as a family, were proud to support you by attending the Gilroy School Board meeting this past week. The turnout was amazing. You should know how admired you are. You have been a loyal friend and a great example to many and you can know of a surety that there are more with you than against you.
May I share a scripture with you? It comes from the King James Bible in 2 Kings 6:8-23. This is the wonderful story of the Prophet Elisha and how he was being attacked by those in power. Elisha, like Jack Daley, was a man/prophet of great faith. He was a good, caring and strong example to all, especially to his servant and friends.
When Elisha and his friend were surrounded by the armies of Syria, or some may call them a modern-day lynch mob/board, and everything looked bleak, his friend was greatly concerned. But Elisha responded with a wonderful and timely declaration. Verse16: “And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
There are many more with you! Our support and prayers are with you and your family.
