Dear Editor,

James Fennell’s Sept. 9 letter repeats a fabrication that has been roundly discredited. Sen. Barack Obama was never on Meet the Press on Sept. 7, 2008 and his “words” were extracted from an article by John Semmens of the website The Arizona Conservative and have been passed along the Internet, seeking a receptive audience.

I’m sure that careful research of Mr. Obama’s actual words will provide sufficient ammunition for his critics, without resorting to Internet hooey.
