Dear Editor:

I want to thank Joyce Croul for her “lest we forget letter” of March 12, 2003 cause I had really forgotten how many incidents we have turned our other “cheek” too, that has resulted in the murder of our people, most of whom were truly innocent like women, kids and babies and men also.

And so far as I can recall we have retaliated with nothing much more than talk (noise).

I guess we must have a lot of stupid people here in our country, the “they know not what they do,” attitude against murderers is really harmless.

Every one of these “incidents” is a direct cause for retaliation. We got into World War II when only about half as many people were murdered by the Japanese “41” as there were murdered in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in ’01.

So far all we have done is talk – our president is trying to do what should have been done long ago with a definite lack of support by a large percentage of our “learned” population who have as yet to realize that turning the other cheek just encourages the aggressor to do it again.

And you sure missed the boat in not designating her letter with your Golden Quill handle, shame on you.

I’m not going to take the time to tally up the murders all these incidents caused or the costs of properties destroyed. I’ll leave that up to you – if you have the nerve.

Again thanks to Joyce Croul.

P.S. another thing I resent – the term “gave his life” when referring to a man killed in the service. Nobody “gives” his or her life unless they are suicidal – and those who are should not be mourned because it’s what they wanted – not what done to them by others.
