I am writing to invite you all to come see Odyssey Theatre Company’s production of “Li’l Abner” this weekend at the Gilroy High School Theatre. The cast is made up of very talented actors from Gilroy and Morgan Hill who have all worked very hard to put together this excellent production.
Among the wonderful tunes included in Li’l Abner’ are Abner and Daisy’s gentle duet “Namely You,” a dream ballad “If I Had My Druthers,” the hilarious showstopper “Jubilation T. Cornpone,” General Bullmoose’s “Progress is the Root of All Evil,” and the political satire “The Country’s in the Very Best of Hands.” The Sadie Hawkins Day Ballet and fine choral work also contribute to making this a classic American musical.
The show is perfect for families, but we ask that you not bring children under the age of 5 years old. The performance dates are Aug. 19, 25, 26 and Sept. 8 and 9 at 8 pm. We also have matinees on Sunday, Aug. 20 and 27 at 4 pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students/seniors.
