Public Links Championship – competed in NCGA events this week with
much success.
DALY CITY/PEBBLE BEACH – Gilroyan golfers Daniel Lim – in the Junior Championship – and David Burroughs – in the Public Links Championship – competed in NCGA events this week with much success.
Lim finished fourth in the Class ‘A’ Boys Division for ages 16-17 by shooting a three-day total of 229 (78-75-76) in the 74th annual competition at Lake Merced GC. Lim was only three strokes back from the winner David Leuterio, of Sacramento, who finished with a three-day 226 (75-79-72).
Burroughs placed 27th out of 45 in the Championship Flight of the 38th annual event by shooting a two-day 162 (81-81) on the Spyglass Hill GC in Pebble Beach. The winner of the Championship Flight was James Hay, of Diablo Grande, who shot a tournament- best of 145 (72-73).
