Transitional housing center opens

Gilroy – The doors of the Sobrato Transitional Housing Center are opening for families in flux, but most do not have furniture for their new apartments.

The first family to move in was a single mother and her three children. They had all been living in her car prior to last weekend.

Many families lack basics such as beds, cooking ware, and sheets. To help these families in transition get their feet off the ground, consider donating items from 10am to 2pm, today at the old cannery building at Alexander and Lewis streets.

Can’t make it today?

Contact Andy Leif at South County Housing for more information about how to donate: an**@*****ty.com
