Singles social wine tasting Sunday

Gilroy – The Society of Professional Singles will host a wine tasting from 1 to 3pm, Sunday at the new Adagio Winery, located across Highway 101 from Rapazzini Winery.

The event, hosted by the world’s largest non-profit singles organization is designed for singles of all ages. Tickets are $10 at the door. Must be at least age 21 to attend.

Purring and barking in the new year

Morgan Hill – The Friends of San Martin Animal Shelter (FOSMAS) need help to find loving families for the many homeless companion animals currently at the shelter and in foster homes. Visit the FOSMAS petfair Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5pm at Petco-Morgan Hill (corner of Tennant and Monterey) where there will be many wonderful companions, including cats, dogs, and rabbits.

Conservative Republicans meet

Gilroy – Conservative Republicans and others are invited to attend the monthly meeting of the California Republican Assembly (CRA) 7pm, Thursday. Experience some classic sounds

Gilroy – The City of Gilroy Community Services Department presents Bisceglie’s “Soul Terrain.” Experience the sounds of Motown, disco and soul in this ultimate all-singing, all-dancing wild revue, featuring 75 local kids.

Performances are Jan. 12 through Jan. 28, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm; Sundays at 1 and 5pm, at the Gilroy High School Theater. All tickets are $12, reserved seating and reservations are recommended.

Library offers free wireless access

Gilroy – Library patrons in Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos (including the Woodland branch), Milpitas, Morgan Hill, and Saratoga can now log on to the Internet with their own laptop computers, PDAs and other mobile devices while in the library “Wi-Fi” zone.
