Enjoy family fun and fitness

Gilroy – The Art of Living Foundation is holding a fundraiser for South Valley Middle School Science Camp and invites you to celebrate the spirit of christmas and welcome holidays with your family 5 to 7pm, Dec. 16 at South Valley Middle School Gym.

Fun and games for the entire family, win exciting raffle prizes for children and adults, learn quick and easy breathing techniques to relieve stress and calm your mind and learn light stretches and yoga suitable for all age groups.

Spanish translation will be available onsite, students from the GUSD attend free and there will be a separate Angels program available for children younger than 5.

The entry fee is $15 per adult at the door. GUSD staff, GUSD teachers and parents of GUSD students pay $10. Discount coupons can be picked from South Valley Middle School or GUSD office. Proceeds go to sponsor underprivileged children at the school to go to science camp in February.

Wear comfortable clothing. If you have a yoga mat, bring it with you. There will be some available on site along with sheets and pillows.

Symphony creates ‘Holiday Magic’

Gilroy – “Holiday Magic,: a distinctive collection of Christmas compositions selected by South Valley Symphony Maestro Anthony Quartuccio, will be performed by the South Valley Symphony at 4 pm, today at Gavilan College Theater.

Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens age 55 and older and $8 for students ages12 to 18. Children under 12 are free with a paid adult admission.

Tickets are available at Porcella’s Music, 7357 Monterey St. in Gilroy; Carole’s Hallmark Store, 779 First St. in Morgan Hill; Booksmart at its new location at Third and Depot streets in Morgan Hill; at the Mission Gallery in San Juan Bautista; and at Postnet, located at 1760 Airline Highway in Hollister. Tickets can also be purchased online at the South Valley Symphony Web site: http://www.southvalleysymphony.org.

Tickets will also be available one hour before the performance at the Gavilan Theater Box Office, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd. in Gilroy.

Bonfante’s Holiday Lights Dazzle

Gilroy – Bonfante Gardens Holiday Lights features two new additions this year: a festive “Home for the Holidays” parade and special appearances by Snoopy, the lovable beagle from Peanuts comic strips.

Holiday Lights includes millions of dazzling lights around the park, an all-you-can-eat holiday feast, ice skating under the stars, holiday themed rides and visits with Santa.

The new parade begins at 8:30pm on weekends. The event continues daily through 23. Park is open nightly from 4 to 9pm. Tickets range from $22 to $40.
