Witnesses offered differing testimonies of the incident, including Garcia’s 18-year-old neighbor Hasan Qaddura and Garner’s 15-year-old ex-girlfriend.

Qaddura claimed Garner was unarmed when Garcia attacked him with a metal pipe. Garner’s ex said she was being beaten by him and called out for help.
