A group of wrestlers from both Gilroy and Christopher high schools competed at the 55th Pat Lovell Wrestling Tournament at Aptos High School on Dec. 27-28.

Jose Guerrero of Gilroy won the 215-pound weight class bracket and scored 32 team points to help the Mustangs place fifth with a score of 141 points in the two-day tourney. 

Fellow teammate Ryan Garcia placed 6th in the 113-pound weight class bracket, followed by Mateo Sanchez (4th; 113 pounds), Anthony Cazarez (3rd; 132-pounds), Jose Limones (3rd; 138-pounds), Alex Serrano (5th; 138-pounds) and Brian Haran (5th; 175-pounds).     

Christopher High School senior Logan Corona took second in the 194-pound weight division.

Christopher High’s Jack Zukowski competed in the 126-pound weight division, while fellow teammate Tyler Filice competed in the 138-pound bracket.
