Police arrested a 24-year-old man after a 16-year-old co-worker told police he tried to rape her.

Gerardo Ceballos was arrested on suspicion of intent to commit rape, police said.

Shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday, the teen told police she voluntarily visited with Ceballos in his car in the area of Linaria and Oleo Court in northwest Gilroy. The teen was assaulted and molested, police said. Ceballos was arrested at 1 p.m. Saturday without incident, police said. His car was confiscated as evidence.
