A man was robbed at gunpoint early this morning near the downtown, but police found the suspect minutes later and arrested him.

At 1:21 a.m. today, a man was walking near Third and Rosanna streets when he was approached by another man – later identified as 19-year-old Robert Walter King of San Jose – police said. King displayed “what appeared to the victim to be a handgun and demanded money,” police said.

The man gave King his cash and King got into a brown car that had other people in it and fled.

About ten minutes later, an officer saw a car that matched the description and stopped it near Chestnut and 10th streets, police said. There, the officer arrested King and the two other people in the vehicle.

A juvenile in the car was booked for probation violation and the other person in the car, an unidentified adult, was released, police said.

Nobody was hurt and no shots were fired during the robbery, police said.
