At 7:38 p.m. on July 29, a 25-year-old male was walking in the soccer field behind South Valley Middle School when two unknown suspects allegedly stabbed him with a screwdriver, causing non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspects approached the victim to ask him if he was gang affiliated. One of the suspects reached into his backpack and clutched a screwdriver, stabbing the victim once before both suspects fled on food down Forest Street, according to a press release from the Gilroy Police Department.

The victim refused medical treatment.

One suspect is described by police as a Hispanic light-complexioned male between the ages of 18 and 23, about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. The second suspect is simply described as a Hispanic male between 18- and 24-years-old.
