88.
Manuel DaSilveira passed away at home Monday at the age of 88.
He was the husband of the late Anna DaSilveira (1995); father of Manuel Silveira of Florida, Teresinha Avila of San Jose, Humberto Silveira of Modesto, Tony Silveira of San Jose, Lorena Bastiao of Fremont, and Angelo Silveira of Gilroy. He was grandfather to 16 and great grandfather to 12. He was the brother of Margarida Nunes of Milpitas. He was preceded in death by his daughter,
Conceicao Silveira, and his son, Antonio Silveira, and four brothers and four sisters. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews in the Azores, Canada, and the United States. He is a native of Terra Do Pao, Pico, Azores, and emmigrated to Livingston, Calif., in May 1974. He moved to San Jose in 1975. He was a member and choirmember of Five Wounds Catholic Church, San Jose, and was a past member of Posso, San Jose. He enjoyed singing and praying.
Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at Habing Family Funeral Home, and at 6 p.m. Friday at Five Wounds Catholic Church, 1375 E. Santa Clara St., San Jose, followed by rosary at 7:15 p.m. and Mass at 7:30 p.m. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Cemetery, San Jose.
