The Morgan Hill Police Department plans to kick off Independence Day weekend with a DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location within the city limits of Morgan Hill between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. Friday night.
SJ man charged with vehicular manslaughter turns himself in
UPDATE: Dennis Leffew, the San Jose driver who was recently charged with vehicular manslaughter in the Nov. 6 crash that killed Gavilan College basketball player Andrel Gaines, turned himself in Monday and is being held on a $250,000 bail in the San Mateo County Jail, according to Karen Guidotti, chief deputy with the San Mateo County DA’s Office.Â

The Gilroy Police Department recently responded to a variety of crimes, including battery, peeping or prowling and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter May 21 through 28. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
