Police blotter: Prowling, battery
The Gilroy Police Department recently responded to a variety of crimes, including battery, peeping or prowling and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter May 21 through 28. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
Outstanding third suspect arrested in gang slaying case
Juan Guerra, 21, one of three suspects allegedly involved the April 3 double shooting that killed Gilroyan Jesse Emmanuel Silos, 30, and left another 37-year-old victim seriously injured, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Friday in San Jose on homicide and attempted homicide charges according to a press release sent today from the Gilroy Police Department.Â
Hearing for 2011 drive-by shooting suspects continued again
The preliminary hearing for the five young men accused of killing 14-year-old Tara Romero in a 2011 drive-by shooting was continued again Monday, and the Morgan Hill victim’s family is increasingly anxious about the repeated delays.Â
