Forty-three of the 46 federally charged suspects from Operation Garlic Press - the 39-agency, 16-month undercover investigation led by Gilroy Police in 2011 - have been sentenced to terms in prison ranging from six months to 20 years. 

Four suspects drove south on the U.S. 101 early Tuesday morning, robbing convenience stores at gunpoint from Morgan Hill to King City, where they were finally arrested with cash and a handgun, police said. 

Antolin Garcia Torres, the Morgan Hill man suspected of killing missing teen Sierra LaMar, appeared in court Wednesday morning to be arraigned on three attempted kidnapping charges related to a series of incidents that happened in 2009.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney is vetting a complaint from an east coast family claiming that a Gilroy man is illegally conducting international adoptions from his Valley Oaks Drive home.  

A 50-year-old San Jose handyman was held against his will by two suspects and forced to perform repairs at a home in unincorporated Morgan Hill before escaping, authorities said.

UPDATE: At 5 a.m., Monterey California Highway Patrol arrested four suspects in San Miguel for this robbery as well as two other recent robberies in Morgan Hill and King City. The suspects were stopped in a silver Lexus, and evidence in the car linked them to the Chevron robbery in Gilroy, according to Police Sgt. Pedro Espinoza. Names and photos of suspects have not yet been released.
