'Avoid the 13' campaign in full swing until New Year's Day

Sheriff: DUI arrests down from last year during holiday season

Officers representing 13 county law enforcement agencies arrested 422 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to a final “Avoid the 13” report released Jan. 5 by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department.

Police briefs: Police arrest man for methamphetamine sales

This week, Gilroy Police worked extra shifts at the Garlic Festival as well as on the streets patrolling. They responded to incidents of methamphetamine sales,  drunk driving and theft, as well as several incidents of public intoxication at the Garlic Festival. Here are a few of those incidents:
