The Christopher High baseball team held off its crosstown counterpart Gilroy High 7-5 in nonleague action on a superb Saturday afternoon at Gavilan College.

James H. Weitz passed away in Hollister at the age of 72 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Victoria, TX. A veteran of three years in the US Army, Aug. 1958 to Aug. 1961, where he was trained as a combat engineer.

Alleged puppy killer incompetent for trial, for now

The Gilroy man who’s been in custody since May 2011 for allegedly killing his wife’s 6-week-old Chihuahua puppy was deemed incompetent to continue on to trial – for now at least – according to Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Troy Benson.
