Christopher High’s No. 3-doubles duo of Matt Lombardo and Nate Norman may or may not have known when the first ball was served that the outcome of Thursday’s dual with Monte Vista Christian hinged on the result of their match.
Either way, the tandem beat Kenny Tien and Arthur Ka 7-5, 6-2 to break a 3-3 tie and lift the Cougars to a 4-3 victory.
Adding to the team points for CHS were Jeffery Kong at No. 2 singles, Chris Drewry at No. 3 singles and No. 4-singles player Ryan Cockcroft.
Kong beat Kyle Kang (6-1, 6-7 10-3), Drewryswept David Lin (6-3, 6-2) and Cockcroft outlasted Steven To (6-3, 2-6, 10-8.)
