After graduating from San Leandro High School, he joined the Navy to serve in the Pacific during WW II. He returned to marry the love of his life, Helen Mendonca.

James Gordon Fellows walked with his faithful Lord Jesus into Heaven on Monday, March 15, 2010. At his side were his two daughters and sons-in-law. He was 85. Jim was born in northern Idaho, raised in eastern Washington, and lived in Gilroy and Santa Cruz. His wife of 56 years, Viola, preceded him in death in 2008. He was employed for 37 years with Coast Counties Gas and Electric and PG&E. Jim leaves behind two daughters, Debbie and Dawn; three grandchildren: Kierstyn and Colton Voyles, and Kirk Gandolfi Jr.; a brother, Dale, and a sister, June Dumbeck, both of Pomeroy, WA; and many other beloved family members and friends. Services were held Monday, March 22, 2010, in Santa Cruz. The family requests donations may be made to Nacitone Regional Interpretive Center, P.O.
