Homeless residents in a west Gilroy encampment received a notice
Elenora Schumaker Hooton
Elenora S. Hooton, 87 years old, passed away in peace with the Lord at the Mabie Northside Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born and raised in Hollister by Garnett "Red" and Pearl Schumaker and married to Dean Hooton and became the beloved mother two, Tom Hooton of Huntington, OR and Holly Leroux of Hollister, son and daughter- in- law, Jerry Leroux and Billie Hooton. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A loyal member of the Hollister United Methodist Church, several quilters' guilds, The Red Hat Society and The San Benito County Historical Society. She worked at the Hollister National Bank, Andersen's Motel in Buelton and King Frederick Motel in Solvang. She lived her life to the fullest with the friendships she made along the journey of her life.
