Frances M. Sawyer of Morgan Hill lost her most recent battle with cancer on Friday, January 15, 2010. She tried hard to combat her latest setback of hepatobiliary cancer, but just didn't have the physical strength to pull off what her mental toughness wanted to accomplish. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Houghton (Tom), son Kevin (Terri), daughter Maureen Henningsen (Mike), and seven loving grandchildren, Megan Wilson, Gillian Brotherson, Kameron Sawyer, Molly, Colleen, Kelly, and Scott Henningsen. She was preceded by son Brian and daughter Eileen. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1926, and immigrated to California in 1950. She enjoyed family, vacations at Summer Home Park, and volunteering at school and church. She was a past member of the Flower
Melva G. Gerrity
Melva Georgene Gerrity, 81, of Morgan Hill, CA, passed away quietly at home in the presence of her family, after a short bout with cancer, on Thursday, January 14, 2010. Melva was born in Mayfield on July 19, 1928 to Milton and Suzanne Slade. She attended Palo Alto High School and was married to Howard C. Gerrity on February 8, 1942. Melva and Howard moved from Palo Alto to Mountain View in 1955 and remained there until their retirement and move to Morgan Hill.

Jacob (Jack) W. Kent passed on Wednesday December 9th at his home in Hollister, CA. A reception to honor Jack's life is being held Saturday January 23rd. The reception will be at 245 Ray Circle, Hollister CA. from noon to 3pm.

Jane Edde Hanna
Jane Edde Hanna was born in Calexico, CA on May 31, 1955. She passed away peacefully on January 15, 2010, in Santa Cruz near her beloved beach. The Edde's moved to Gilroy when Jane was two years old. Jane attended Jordan Elementary, Brownell Junior High, and Gilroy Union High School. Throughout her schooling she was active in many clubs and activities. In her Senior year, she was football's Homecoming Queen. Jane continued her education at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, getting her Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition. She married and moved to San Rafael. While living there, the family was blessed with a daughter, Natalie. Jane obtained another degree in Accounting and became a CPA. She was employed by Arthur Anderson as an accountant in Auditing and Small Business Departments. She also lectured at Sonoma State University. The Hanna family grew again with the birth of twins, Marie and Nicholas.
