Raymond C. Barragan, age 71, founder of Golden Memorial Insurance and Barragan Insurance Marketing passed away in Salinas. Ray started his insurance career in 1962 and instantly became a top producer. He was ready for another challenge and soon started recruiting other agents. This was the start of Golden Memorial Insurance Agency. Today the agency consists of more than 300 agents from California to West Virginia. The agency has been the top agency of Lincoln Heritage Life for the last two decades. He served on the board of directors of Londen Insurance Group. The Golden Memorial Insurance Agency was his pride and joy. The passion Ray had for his business was the secret of his success. He had a competitive but friendly drive that led to success in both his professional and personal lives.

Donald Elbert Lantz was born in Campbell, California on June 4, 1923 and passed away peacefully on February 9, 2008. Donald was a UC Davis Alumnus, an agricultural pioneer, and an avid hunter, fisherman and world traveler. He was a docent at the UCSC Long Marine Laboratory for 24 years and a Red Cross Disaster Relief volunteer for 48 years. Donald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley F. Lantz; his two children, Pam Chiala (Chris Schroeder) and Tim Lantz; three grandchildren, Vito Chiala (Lucy), Gina Chiala and Alisha Mazzucco (Rico); and great-granddaughter Siena Chiala. The family extends its wholehearted thanks to the caring staff at Our Lady of Fatima Villa in Saratoga, California. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association. A private memorial will be held Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:00 at the home of Tim Lantz.
