FIELD HOCKEY: GHS celebrates Senior Day with 10-0 win
Gilroy High field hockey held its Senior Day on Tuesday and promptly routed Leland 10-0.

Steven J. Vasquez, loved dearly by his family and friends, passed away tragically on March 12 at the age of 45. Steven was born on December 7, 1963 to Lawrence and Mollie Vasquez. His father Lawrence Vasquez precedes him in death in 2003. He leaves behind his loving wife and soul mate Pierrette Vasquez. Steven will be missed by his mother Mollie Vasquez and his brothers and sisters, who include Mollie Gauthier, Richard Vasquez, Nancy Bernal, Irene Minderler, David Vasquez, Lillian Ouellette, and Barbara Villanueva. Uncle Stevie will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Milton James Hanoum, Sr. was born on November 5, 1927 in San Francisco, CA to Murle and Nathaniel Hanoum. He went to be with his lord and savior Jesus Christ on July 17, 2009.

We are lucky to live just over the hill from Santa Cruz—only an hour’s drive from cool summer air, seaside vistas and movies with fewer special effects and explosions. For years, I had heard about Pogonip, an open space near Santa Cruz, without really knowing what it was. I just knew it had a catchy name and trails to explore.
