Dear Editor:
As a member of the Gilroy Leadership class of 2004 I had the
opportunity to witness, first hand, one day in the life of a
principal at a middle school. I had the privilege to observe Mr.
Sal Tomasello perform his functions with clarity, decisiveness
leadership, competency, compassion … the list is to long and
there is too little space.

It dawned on me that we rarely hear about the good things that are going on in the school district; we only hear the negative aspects. I encourage The Dispatch to focus on one educator a month and feature that individual; acknowledge that individual’s accomplishments in his/her school and/or within the district.
Until you actually walk in the shoes of these fine human beings, or in this case follow behind, we as a community have no idea what demands are placed on them. I encourage members of our community to get involved with their neighborhood schools; give a lending hand. The opportunities are there to help make a difference.
