Devout Catholic of Lebanese origin and long time resident of Hollister, CA, born in Michigan and survived by brother James Peters, predeceased by Sheffia Thomas, Nabeeha Edwards , Michael Peters, Nappe Peters, Ralph Peters, Kathryn Studnicka, Louis Peters and Louise Peters, and survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
On September 25,2010, Barbara passed away after a short battle with cancer. Gilroy was where she helped establish and run the family business, Kay's Pool Center.
Rickey Contival passed away suddenly in Oroville, CA at the age of 46 years doing what he loved the most, going on a fishing trip. "Rick was loved by many and will remain in our hearts forever", said his family. Rick was a native of Hollister and was a graduate of San Benito High school. He was a active member of the Western Bass Masters Association.
Born in Salinas, CA. on Jan. 7, 1924, fourth-generation Californian, Dr. Bill Reeves rode to higher ground on Sept. 12, 2010, after a brief illness. Having served as a naval officer in the Pacific during WWII, Dr. Reeves graduated from Stanford University and Stanford School of Medicine. He began his OB/GYN career in Los Altos in 1955, delivering thousands of babies during his 40 years in private practice. Dr. Reeves was a founder of El Camino Hospital where he served as its first medical chief of staff. Dr. Reeves was heavily involved in the establishment of the RotaCare Free Health Clinic as well as starting the Older Adult Resource Center. He served for many years on the Hospital Board and remained active on the Foundation's Board until his death.
