Dale Charles Smith

Dale C. Smith, passed away on 5/29/08. A native of San Jose, CA. Dale was a loving father who enjoyed country living. He is survived by his wife Lynne and children Lori, Tim, and Dana. A gathering of friends and family will be held June 14, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. 17821 Pesante Rd. Salinas, CA. Dale will be deeply missed.

Beatrice Lewis

Beatrice is survived by her three daughters, their families and many other family members. A memorial service will take place 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 6th at the First Baptist Church, 8455 Wren Ave., Gilroy.

Jane Scheidegger

In Lodi, CA on May 31, 2008. She was the beloved mother of Ken Scheidegger, Paul Scheidegger, a loving grandmother to Eric Scheidegger, Karen Benjamin, Jeff Scheidegger. Preceded in death by her husband, Fred Scheidegger. A native of Rio Vista, aged 93 years. Private Services will be held at a later date.

Eugene Messer

Died peacefully at Home in Fresno, CA. Born in KY and moved to CA in 1964. Lived in Gilroy for 30 years where he loved to spend time with his family camping, fishing, and boating. Moved to Fresno after retiring.

Roberto Rodriguez

Passed away in Hollister at the age 81. Visitation: Wed. June 4th from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Edward Correia

Ed is survived by his wife of 50 years Lucille; children Denita Shupe, spouse Errol of San Juan Bautista; & Eddie Correia, spouse Lucy of Tracy; grandchildren Josh Myers of Chico; Derrol and Melissa Shupe of San Juan Bautista; brothers Jack Correia, spouse Shirley, and Charlie Correia; sisters Dolores Henson, spouse Red; Elizabeth Perry, spouse Ken, and Evelyn Jurado; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Joe & Mary Correia; brothers Joe & George Correia; sisters Mary Shelton, Elvira Ormonde, Angelina Souza, & Alice Campbell. Ed was a General Contractor with an eye for detail. He loved being around family and friends whenever he had time. He loved the outdoor sports of ATV's, snowmobiles, and motorcycles because he loved speed. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be forever missed. Ed grew up in southern CA where he met and married his wife Lucille and had two children. Then they moved to Tracy, CA where he worked for his father, and then went into business for himself. After living in Tracy about 25 years, followed by a short time in the Paso Robles area, the family moved to San Juan Bautista where they have lived the past 22 years. Friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday June 7th at 10:00 A.M. at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister 95023. Sarah Padron

Sarah Padron passed away in Gilroy at the age of 74. She was born in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico and lived in Hollister since 1963. She married her husband, Richard, in 1963 in Las Vegas, NV. She was an active member of Sunnyslope Christian Center as a deaconess and very involved in church functions. She liked cooking, baking, canning and crocheting. She also liked birds and during her working life was involved in healthcare working at O'Connor Hospital and Hazel Hawkins Hospital and doing home healthcare.

Joan Bitner

Joan Bitner was born Joan Marlene Hagen July}7, 1937 and passed suddenly on May 28, 2008 at her home in Gilroy, CA. She was born in Renovo, PA where she spent her youth and met and married George H. Bitner in 1957. With her husband she raised four children, living in Colorado and Montana before settling in California. She will be remembered by her loved ones as a devoted and caring wife and mother as well as a warm hearted lover of animals and flowers. Joan is survived by her husband George; children Kathryn, Robert, Thomas, and Gregory; siblings Charles and Patty; and grandchildren Eric, Alex, Jennifer and Joseph. Funeral Mass Monday, June 2, 2008 – 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, Gilroy. Family would appreciate donations to the Humane Society. Arrangements by Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
