U8 BOYS

Mission Valley Ford Thrashers 5

Purple Tigers 1

HIGHLIGHTS: After a scoreless first half in which both goalies were stellar, Jason Struzik opened the scoring for the Thrashers followed by a Kevin Jones strike off an assist from Frank Subia. Then Struzik added another goal and Ben Troini chipped in with two more Thrasher goals. For the Thrashers, Sterling Montgomerey was solid in goal, while Frank Subia provided outstanding offensive pressure throughout the game. Bradley Speno was stellar at fullback, holding the Tigers in check on many of their rushes.

HIGHLIGHTS: Jason Stuzik notched a hat trick for the Thrashers, while goaltenders Sterling Montgomery and Ben Troini combined for the shutout. Struzik and Trioni netted first-half goals for the Thrashers. Frankie Subia assisted on Struzik’s two second-half strikes.

U8 GIRLS

Pink Panthers 5

White Lightning 1

HIGHLIGHTS: For the Pink Panthers, Taylor Slattery and Jamie Lanz each netted goals before Erin Smolkag scored for White Lightning. But three unanswered Pink Panter goals sealed the game as Bailey Fiorio and Kaylana Mah (two) found the back of the net. Andrea Kovach led an outstanding defensive effort and Emily Barham has a solid day in net.

Red Lightning 1

HIGHLIGHTS: After Mikayla Bejarano opened the scoring for the Red Lightning, Taylor Slattery netted a pair and Krissy Simpson scored another to lift the Pink Panthers to victory. Cailin Mc Carry and Rebecca Reiner played strong defense with Brittini Bombino solid in net.

U10 BOYS

Dragons 10

MH Blue Lasers 0

HIGHLIGHTS: Dragons’ forward Kris Dipko scored a season-high six goals to lead the charge with teammate Joseph Chizanskos netting two goals and Allen Cooper as well as Zack Carbonneau adding one apiece. The teamwork of Tanner Holland, Dalton Campbell, chris Catanzaro, Dakota Cornelius, Devon Castaneda and Gary Dickson resulted in the shutout. In net, Cooper and Kyle Wanslow did not allow a goal.

U10 GIRLS

Goldsmith Seeds Purple Pythons 8

Green Geckos 0

HIGHLIGHTS: The Purple Pythons extended their season-long shutout streak led by Alex Rose’s hat trick. The Pythons also received goals from Krysta Diego (two), Girodan Rojas, Laura Steele and Taylor Schaut. The defense was anchored by Alison Green, Chelsea Hill, Adrianna Gutierrez and Erin Chisolm. The Pythons also got strong efforts out of Chrissy Allen, Sami Tripp and Stacy Lammer.

HIGHLIGHTS: Four different American girls scored to lead the way along with a strong all-around defensive outing.

U14 BOYS

Pipkin Racing’s Team America 5

Lightning 1

HIGHLIGHTS: Team America overcame a sluggish first half with a pair of two-goal efforts from Matt Hemeon and Bernard Salgado to lead the second-half charge. Fullback Nick Blackwell rocketed a long-range goal to clinch victory. Jonathan Grifall, christian Naro, Alex Smithee, and Henry Phan hustled all game, while goalies Brian Hentschke and Edgar Hernandez played strong in net.

U14 GIRLS

Probe Specialist’s Green Sting 1

Central Valley Lasers 5

HIGHLIGHTS: The Lasers started off with a strong first half by quickly scoring two before Alycia Bostock centered to teammate Erin McGill for the Green Sting’s only goal of the game. In the second stanza, Sting netminder Marisa Mercado made a diving save, while fullbacks Jeamie Silva and Sidney Caldwell were strong on defense.
