The Gilroy Dispatch team took top honors, with a winning score
of 48.9 at last weekend’s GHS Basketball fundraising tournament
held at the Gilroy Golf Course.
The Gilroy Dispatch team took top honors, with a winning score of 48.9 at last weekend’s GHS Basketball fundraising tournament held at the Gilroy Golf Course.

The team was led by Gilroy Dispatch sports writer Ana Patejdl who also won the closest to the pin and longest drive competitions for women.

Patejdl was joined on the winning squad by the sports editor John Coscia, chief photographer James M. Mohs and graphic artist Nathan Mixter.

Over 50 people from the community participated in the event, which raised over $5,000, to support the boys and girls basketball programs.

The team of Daniel Rorvik, Keri Groh, Gary DeLorenzo and Benji Dequin, with a score of 49.6 finished second and the foursome of Chuck Davey, Mike Mathews, Richard Bryson and Randy Diaz with a score of 50.8 finished third.

The tournament committee would like to thank all the players, business sponsors and parents who helped make the event a success.
