Woman wanted for knife attack
Police are requesting a warrant to arrest a known suspect who allegedly used a large blade to slice open the forearm of another woman.
The victim and the suspect were arguing over a man in the northwest corner of Las Animas Veterans Park in the afternoon Nov. 1 when the victim assaulted the suspect, witnesses said. Then, the suspect pulled out the knife, cut the woman and ran off.
Cause of death undetermined
The manner of the Oct. 2 death of a Morgan Hill man could not be determined, according to a certificate of death issued by the Santa Clara County Coroner.
The county sheriff’s office reported that a 66-year-old had been found in the carport of a residence at Sycamore and Sheila avenues in Morgan Hill. Deputies pronounced the man dead as the result of suicide at 1:11 p.m., though they estimated his death at two hours prior.
Stabbing victim in fair condition
A 17-year-old that was stabbed in the head Oct. 27 during a possible gang incident is in fair and stable condition.
While thousands of Gilroy residents packed into the Garcia-Elder Sports Complex to watch the Gilroy High School homecoming, two teens were being assaulted by about six youths – possibly gang members from Morgan Hill – just a block away near the intersection of Princevalle and Fairview drives. The two Gilroy teens – who did not attend the high school – were both treated for multiple stab wounds, though police would not say how many times they were stabbed or where the wounds were.
The teen that was stabbed in the head will likely have some motor difficulties, police said. The other teen was released by the hospital after the attack.
Suspected DUI
driver leaves scene
Running away from an accident he allegedly caused did not help a Gilroy man, as witnesses gave his location to police, leading to his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence and other charges. Alfonso Jimenez, 21, was cited and later released on the DUI charge, as well as hit and run and driving without a license.
Jimenez was driving southbound on Monterey Road at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, police said. As he approached the intersection of Monterey Road and West Edmundson Avenue traveling about 40 mph, he smashed into the rear of a Jeep stopped at the light.
Jimenez backed up and made a right turn onto West Edmundson Avenue, then drove over a concrete median, across several lanes of traffic, over the curb, finally coming to a stop on the sidewalk next to the Starbucks Coffee in the Vineyard Town Center.
Jimenez and his passenger fled south. Jimenez was caught at the bus stop at Monterey Road and Vineyard Boulevard, but the passenger was gone.
