Luis Albarran, 21, of Gilroy, was arrested at 3:40 p.m. Friday after he concealed a finger vibrator, lubricant jelly and hydrocortizone without paying for them while shopping with his girlfriend, police said.
When Albarran was confronted by security guards outside Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, he fled on foot before, police said. However, he was soon apprehended by a loss prevention officer. He was arrested for theft and on warrants for driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to stop at a stop light and two counts of unlicensed driving, police said.
Pregnant woman kicked
A woman who was 28 weeks pregnant was kicked in the stomach during a domestic fight at Chestnut and 10th streets at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Children taken into custody after baby has broken femur
A 9-month-old baby was brought to Saint Louise Regional Hospital, 9400 No Name Uno, 3:39 p.m. Sunday, from an Eigleberry Street home after her femur was broken. Child Protective Services responded, and all children in the home were taken into protective custody.
iPod, phone taken at gunpoint
An unknown man approached someone on Buttercup and Daisy lanes at 10 p.m. Friday with what appeared to be a gun and demanded the victim’s iPod and cell phone. The suspect is still at large.
Three arrested for alleged handgun possession
Police arrested three alleged Norteño gang members, 10:56 p.m. Saturday, on charges of possession of a handgun and ammunition. Those included Ruben Pardo, 22, of San Jose; Jimmy Pardo, 22 of Gilroy; and a 16-year-old boy.
