An unidentified person was seen running away from a victim’s
bird cage with a rose-breasted cockatoo at 4:58 a.m. April 15. The
thief made off with three rare birds, each worth $1,000. They were
a male rose-breasted cockatoo named Tuxedo, a female rose-breasted
cockatoo named Rose and a male bare-eyed cockatoo named Toy.
Jorge Anaya, 32, of Morgan Hill, was arrested on the 7400 block fo Church Street at 8:46 p.m. April 13 on charges of public intoxication after he was reported to be lurking in several backyards in the area. Police found him and determined that he was unable to care for himself because of his level of intoxication.
Police received a report at 5:26 p.m. April 14 that a pit bull terrier had bitten the hand of a small child on Walnut Lane at 5:26 p.m. The boy had tried to feed pizza to the dog, which belonged to the building’s landlord, and the dog latched onto the boy’s hand in the process. However, the child was gone by the time medics arrived, and the case was forwarded on to the animal control officer.

A girl was arrested at South Valley Middle School, 385 IOOF Avenue, on charges of battery with serious bodily injury at 8:30 a.m. April 15 after punching another female student in the the face numerous times and knocking her unconscious. The victim was transported by ambulance to Saint Louise Regional Hospital.
Someone stole a security camera from the Hecker Pass Plaza shopping center at First Street and Westwood Drive at 4:02 a.m. April 15.
Police cited and released a student at Christopher High School, 850 Day Road, who was found with a 10-inch metal pipe on campus, 11:13 a.m. April 15.
An unknown man threw a chunk of asphalt at a man on the 400 block of Lewis Street at 3:32 p.m. April 15 as the target came from Chestnut Street. The asphalt scraped the victim’s shoulder and damaged the inside of his vehicle.
An assault with a deadly weapon took place at 12:17 a.m. April 16 after a man threw a beer bottle at a woman in El Rio Nilo Club, 7466 Monterey St., and struck her in the face.
A person received minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle at 1:29 p.m. April 16 in the parking lot of Arteaga’s Super Save, 6906 Chestnut St.
A teenage girl from Bakersfield exited a Child Protective Services vehicle at Leavesley Road and U.S. 101 at 11:26 a.m. April 18 and ran away. The vehicle was traveling back to Bakersfield from San Jose. The girl, who was still missing as of Wednesday, was entered into the Missing Unidentified Persons System.
