p.m. Jan. 15. Both were cited and released. Police did not specify

Petty theft

A thief was found in the possession of a stolen phone and iPod on Grenache Way, 9:40 a.m. Jan. 15. The thief was cited and released after admitting to stealing the iPod but not the cell phone.

A thief stole a rear license plate of a red 2000 Mitsubishi on El Cerrito Way, between 6 p.m. Jan. 14 and 9:30 a.m. Jan. 15.

A thief stole a rear license plate of a white 2002 Mitsubishi Galant on Church Street, between 12:01 a.m. Jan. 8 and 3:30 p.m. Jan. 15.

Animal bite

An unidentified person reported an animal bite on Martin Street, 11 a.m. Jan. 13.

Assault

Two people exchanged words in a gang-related altercation, and one person pushed another before a third person separated them on 10th Street, 1:05 p.m. Jan. 15.

A domestic disturbance occurred on Southgate Court, 8 p.m. Jan. 17.

Ralph Martinez was arrested after becoming argumentative and disrespectful of another person while intoxicated on Fairview Drive, 11:07 p.m. Jan. 17. Martinez took and destroyed the woman’s cell phone, hit her in the face, and punched and kicked her several times.

A thief or thieves took a white 2010 camper RV bumper pull trailer valued at $10,709 from the parking lot of Bonessa Brothers on Monterey Street, between 7 p.m. Jan. 15 and 8 a.m. Jan. 16.

A thief or thieves took a Monterey Road resident’s white 1999 Honda Civic from San Jose, between 10:30 p.m. Jan. 7 and 7 a.m. Jan. 8.

A thief of thieves took a white 2006 six-foot, 24-inch U-Haul travel trailer from Monterey Street, between 1 p.m. Jan. 17 and 12:24 a.m. Jan. 18.

Found property

An unidentified person found a man’s wallet with money and credit cards on the intersection of Kern and Welburn avenues, 3:06 p.m. Jan. 16.

Auto burglary

A thief or thieves took a stereo from a locked silver 2001 Daewoo Leganza at Arteaga’s Super Save, 6906 Chestnut St., 5:15 p.m. Jan. 16. There was no damage or signs of forced entry.

A thief or thieves smashed the front passenger-side window of a white 2007 GMC Yukon on Miller Avenue, took a purse and fled, between 7 p.m. Jan. 16 and 8 a.m. Jan. 17. The thief used the victim’s debit cards in three different Gilroy locations.

Bike theft

A thief or thieves stole a black and green Siklon bike valued at $450 from Rosanna Street, between 9:30 and 10 p.m. Jan. 17.

Animal

A dog bit an unidentified person on Babbs Creek Drive, 8:15 p.m. Jan. 17.

Non-injury accident

A blue 2000 Kia Spectra rear-ended a white 2006 Nissan Altima on Leavesley Road, 11:44 a.m. Jan. 18.

Hit and run

A tan 2002 Ford and a blue 2006 Chevrolet 300 were involved in a hit-and-run accident on Church and First streets, 2:41 p.m. Jan. 18.

A tan vehicle hit a black 1994 Saturn LS on Leavesley Road and Murray Avenue, 8:30 p.m. Jan. 6.
