DEAR EDITOR:
Gilroy High needs to learn which teachers to keep and which ones
to let go. Letting Mrs. Kim Lemos go was bad enough, but what
happened to Mr. Kurt Meeker was an outrage. Mr. Meeker was, by far,
one of the best at Gilroy High.

The motivation and connection that he had with the students was extraordinary. He made the quite shy students love to perform. GHS is letting go the teachers that the students love the most.

I attended most of the “Showcases” while I was in school. When Mr. Meeeker came to the stage, there would be about a five-minute applause. Teachers should not be fired who are favored by a majority of the students. Also teachers should not be fired over something as little as what happened during that showcase. I believe firing Mr. Meeker was a mistake.
