Gilroy Police responded to Gilroy High School Wednesday after hearing of a potential fight, but the altercation never happened and no one was hurt, according to school and police officials.
Officers responded to the school at about 1:50pm due to a “campus disturbance which involved the potential of a fight between a few GHS students,” according to Principal Greg Kapaku.
“A number of other students witnessed this perceived fight and followed these students throughout campus, disrupting the normal school day,” Kapaku wrote to parents and staff.
School officials contacted police “out of an abundance of caution,” he wrote.
Gilroy Police Sgt. John Ballard confirmed that the issue was handled promptly. The school day resumed as normal.
