Dear Editor,
The headline of Nancy Murphy’s letter published Nov. 12 asks why
we don’t prize Bush. It goes on to state people from other
countries hoped George Bush would be re-elected because he is a
great leader and implies that he is making the world a safer place
by fighting terrorism.
Dear Editor,
The headline of Nancy Murphy’s letter published Nov. 12 asks why we don’t prize Bush. It goes on to state people from other countries hoped George Bush would be re-elected because he is a great leader and implies that he is making the world a safer place by fighting terrorism.
I would like to point out that since President Bush has invaded Iraq, he has alienated people worldwide, especially Muslims.
The invasion of Iraq confirmed the worst fears of Middle Easterners – America using its military might to invade an oil-rich country on trumped up charges (WMDs). Now radical groups like Al Qaida have no trouble at all getting eager recruits. The terrorists in Iraq are having a field day killing our troops and innocent Iraqis, setting fire to Iraq oil wells, and sabotaging the infrastructure of the country.
Is this fighting terrorism or is it encouraging it?
President Bush not only doesn’t get the prize, he is flunking the course!
