Dear Editor,
The local teacher union parrot Dale “More Money ” Morejon asks why I supposedly changed “average” to “median” when discussing public-school teacher salaries by state (June 29).
Dale, you constantly compare California’s ranking to other states. If their states are so ranked, the middle value, or median, is a valid, not “”arbitrary” or “fictional” reference. I did not say “median salary,” liar.
He calls my writing “inarticulate” while making the above baseless accusations. The union bosses have taught this parrot well. I wonder what he will do once his kind have to get annual dues permission from their slaves after this November.
And when I mentioned security, Morejon is as clueless as ever about the real world, whining about supposed removal for incompetence. Teaching, like health care, is one of the few jobs that cannot be moved to China and India.
Californians pay among the highest taxes in the nation, but according to Morejon, they supposedly spend less per student than several other states.
His only explanation is “Priorities.” Pathetic. Your people, not mine, run the State legislature, Dale. Why don’t they “prioritize”? Answer the question, Dale.
Dale, you moan on about retiree health benefits, matching 401(k) funds, stock options, annual company bonuses, advanced education on company time, a gold watch and a company-paid retirement party, which very few regular private-sector workers get as well.
But you conveniently avoided the one variable that matters – annual dollars per annual hours. Again I ask, did your compensation propaganda consider hours per year? Answer the question, Dale.
