The last time it officially rained was in early July, when 0.01 inches fell.

Creative Director to Judge Competition

Gilroy – Award winning graphic designer and Creative Director of Articulate Solutions Inc., Katherine Filice, has been selected to judge the prestigious International Academy of the Visual Arts W3 and Davey Awards competitions.

The IAVA is a premier international, invitation only organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts.

Filice brings more than 15 years of comprehensive design and marketing experience to her new position with the IAVA. “I am very honored to have been selected by this organization. I am looking forward to reviewing the cutting-edge of design and will enjoy seeing some fresh ideas,” stated Katherine Filice.

Cars and Movies Fill Downtown

Gilroy – Tonight is the fourth Wednesday in the Hot Rods and Cool Flics series, taking place in the downtown at Monterey and Fifth streets. The evening features dozens of classic cars, which start to arrive at 5pm, and a movie starting at dusk. This week’s film is “Now and Forever,” starring Shirley Temple. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and a bowl for free popcorn.

Rotary Hosts George Mark Reps

Gilroy – In continuation of Gilroy Rotary Club’s 2007-2008 them of “Rotary Shares,” the club hosted representatives from The George Mark Children’s House at their July 17 meeting.

The George Mark Children’s House is the first freestanding children’s respite and end of life care facility in the United States.
